Advent is a time to prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus.  We will be looking into the four traditional themes of the season: hope, peace, joy and love.  Come join us Sundays at 9:45 and find out what these themes mean for your life!

Each day we will post another short meditation for you as an advent Book.

  • When we light the candles of the advent wreath each Sunday, we are reminded of God’s love which has no beginning and no end. God has and always will love us. We also remember that the Lord is the eternal light in the midst of darkness.
  • Hope

    Dec. 1

“The angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.” Luke 1:30

Have you ever noticed that each time an angel shows up in the Christmas story, his first words are invariably “Do not be afraid”? followed by “I’ve got good news.” In this week of hope, set aside your fears, whatever they may be, and listen to the good news God has for you —good news of love and power and strength.

Lord, there is much I fear and too often I become so caught up in that fear that I cannot hear Your words of hope and love. Quiet my anxious heart that I might listen and hear Your voice.
